How can i design a plain black t-shirt with white fabric?

I don’t have time to get other fabric, but i have a black shirt that i want to do something with. Is there a way to sew a simple design onto the t-shirt that looks nice?

Iron ons might be the simplest way although they’re not made of fabric.

Pre-fab Appliques from a sewing store or art store might be another.
